NEW ORLEANS (May 16, 2002). Today, PMOLink hosted a groundbreaking first meeting between Dr. Mathias Kirchmer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Germany’s IDS Scheer, Inc., and local business, industry and education leaders. During the visit, Dr. Kirchmer also had the opportunity to meet and talk with New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin. The meeting was a wide-ranging forum to explore partnering and research and development opportunities in the New Orleans area, including the possible establishment of a PMOLink/IDS Scheer office at the University of New Orleans Research and Technology Park.
The day included briefings to Dr. Kirchmer on regional economic opportunities, as well as tours of various high-tech facilities in the area, including the National Center for Advanced Manufacturing at NASA Michoud. The day concluded with a Black Tie reception at UNO, hosted by UNO Chancellor Dr. Gregory O’Brien.
